"When Michael Myers was six years old, he stabbed his sister to death. For years, he was locked up in Smith's Grove Sanitarium... but he escaped, and suddenly, Halloween became another word for mayhem. One by one, he killed his entire family, until his nine-year-old niece, Jamie Lloyd, was the only one left alive. Six years ago, Halloween night, Michael and Jamie vanished. Many people believe them dead, but I think that someone hid them away. Someone who keeps Michael, protects him, tries to control him. And if there's one thing I know, you can't control evil. You can lock it up, you can burn it and bury and pray that it dies, but it never will... it just rests a while. You can lock your doors, and say your prayers at night, but the evil's out there. Waiting. And maybe, just maybe, it's closer than you think."
Tommy Doyle[src]

Michael M. Myers is the main character and antagonist in the Halloween franchise. In the movie Halloween H20: Twenty Years Later, a retcon was established which ignored Halloween 4, 5, and 6. As a result, the biography of this Michael is drastically different to the one who appears from H20 onwards. This version of the character appears in Halloween, Halloween II, Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers, Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers, and Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers.

In this continuity, Michael is cursed by Thorn, a demon who controls him and makes him kill members of his bloodline. As a child, he made his first sacrifice by murdering his older sister, Judith Myers, on Halloween night, under the possession of Enda. Locked away for his crime, he escaped fifteen years later and embarked on a legendary killing spree in his hometown of Haddonfield. He intended to finish the job he started by killing his remaining sister, Laurie Strode, but was stopped by his childhood doctor, Samuel Loomis. Laurie allegedly died in an accident, and Michael returned a decade later to stalk her daughter and his niece, Jamie Lloyd.

While the Michael in the H20 timeline also possesses supernatural powers, this timeline offers more explanation as to the nature of these powers. The Curse of Thorn grants Michael endurance, strength and an apparent immunity from dying (immortality); he can survive injuries that would kill a normal human being. He is apparently motivated to kill by an inner rage directed at members of his family, and hopes that this rage will cease if he achieves his goal. The Cult of Thorn seek to aid and perhaps control Michael.

Biography[]

Childhood[]

Michael M. Myers was born on October 19, 1957, at 11:57 pm, although he was not yet alive. Nine minutes later, at 12:07 am, Michael was officially pronounced alive.[1][2] He had an older sister named Judith and a younger sister. The family resided in a two-story house at 1007 Lampkin Lane in the suburban town of Haddonfield, Illinois.[3] For the first five years of his life, Michael was a normal young boy who sang in the church choir, did activities with his family, but that all changed when Michael was six years old. Sometime in 1963 Michael heard a voice which told him to murder his family; unbeknownst to him, this was the voice of Terence Wynn, a doctor from Smith's Grove Sanitarium. Wynn was secretly a member of a cult of Druids who worshipped Thorn, an ancient demon which possesses one child from each tribe to sacrifice members of their bloodline on the night of Samhain — Halloween. The sacrifice of that one family would supposedly mean sparing the lives of others. Michael Myers was chosen to bear this curse for his generation, and it manifested itself physically on his right wrist as the Mark of Thorn (þ).[4]

Young Michael Myers

At the age of six, Michael Myers murders his sister Judith on Halloween night 1963

Michael's neighbor and babysitter, Mrs. Blankenship, was also a member of the Cult of Thorn. She would tell Michael stories about the bogeyman and the true meaning of Halloween. On October 31, 1963, the six-year-old Michael was being babysat by Mrs. Blankenship while Judith entertained her boyfriend in her home across the street. Dressed as a clown for Halloween, Michael crossed the street and watched his sister and her boyfriend kissing before going upstairs to have sex. Taking a knife out of the kitchen drawer and waiting for Judith's boyfriend to leave, Michael then snuck up the stairs and repeatedly stabbed his sister to death. After watching her die, he left the house only to be discovered by his astonished parents, who had just returned home.[2][4]

Life at Smith's Grove[]

Michael was sent to Smith's Grove for his crime, where he would remain until his twenty-first birthday under Wynn's authority, until he could be tried as an adult. He received psychiatric treatment from Doctor Samuel Loomis, a friend and colleague of Wynn's who was ignorant of the cult's activities. Since the night of Judith's murder, Michael remained in a catatonic state, never speaking a word and hardly ever moving.

This is not to say that Michael was completely inactive during these years. Over the span of a decade, a string of bizarre deaths took place, each one involving a patient or staff member who had some form of interaction with Michael Myers. One such incident involved an injury relating to an older patient named Tony O'Malley. Tony suffered many of the same derangements as Myers, but unlike Michael, was prone to violent outbursts and displays of emotion. After witnesses recounted seeing O'Malley bullying the smaller Myers, he was soon discovered with a crayon lodged inside his brain. Nobody suspected that the virtually comatose Michael Myers could be capable of such an attack, but Loomis began to suspect otherwise. Another such incident took place in November of that year when a patient named Adrian Wade ate an entire birthday cake that was intended for Michael. He was later found in the shower room with 2nd degree burns all over his body. He died in the medical wing a short time later. Another boy, Roger, bit off his own tongue and choked to death. There was no obvious evidence linking Myers to these three deaths.

In 1971, administrator Doctor Carpenter suggested having a Halloween party in the juvenile ward. Doctor Loomis was vehemently opposed to this idea given the significance of this particular date in relation to Myers. As was his custom, Carpenter dismissed Loomis' concerns and the party went underway. A faulty generator knocked out the electricity during the party and when the power resumed, the staff discovered a girl named Nancy had apparently slipped, hit her head and drowned while bobbing for apples. Loomis noted the irony of the fact that she was seen teasing Michael only shortly beforehand.

Michael comes for Jennifer

The night Michael murdered Jennifer Hill

That same evening, Michael killed Doctor Jennifer Hill. Hill had been a long-time colleague and lover of Doctor Loomis and the two were only two months shy of getting married. Sam found Jennifer's body lying on the ground outside the hospital. It appeared as if she had fallen from the roof of the building and her death was written off as a suicide. This proved to be the breaking point for Doctor Loomis. After spending eight years trying to reach him, he now committed himself towards making sure that Michael Myers never saw the light of day ever again. Acting as Michael's gatekeeper became an obsession with Loomis. He no longer regarded him as a human being, but as a monster and devil, the living epitome of pure evil.

He pleaded his case that Myers be moved to a more secure facility, but his superiors refused to listen and ordered that he remain at Smith's Grove.[5] In 1965, Michael's parents were killed in a car accident, and his little sister was adopted by the Strode family, who renamed her Laurie. The Strodes brought Laurie to visit Michael at Smith's Grove on at least one occasion when she was still a little girl.

The night he came home[]

Michael Watching Laurie

Returning to Haddonfield after fifteen years, Michael stalks his younger sister Laurie Strode

On October 30, 1978, Michael Myers destroyed his room at Smith's Grove and carved the word "sister" on his door before breaking out. He also released the other patients from their rooms.[5] It is likely that Dr. Wynn assisted Michael in escaping. At the same time, Dr. Loomis and Nurse Marion Chambers were arriving at the facility to transfer Myers for his court hearing. Noticing the patients roaming around outside the hospital, Loomis got out the car to investigate as Michael attacked Marion and sped away in their station wagon. As he drove across Illinois, Michael stopped to murder a truck driver to steal his boiler suit. Travelling to Haddonfield, Michael returned to his childhood home. The next day on Halloween, a teenaged Laurie Strode dropped off a key at the Myers house for her realtor father, and was immediately recognized by her brother. Michael proceeded to stalk her and her friends Annie Brackett and Lynda Van Der Klok throughout the afternoon. He also stole Judith's gravestone from the local cemetery, and broke into Nichol's Hardware to acquire knives, rope, and a white Halloween mask. Meanwhile, Dr. Loomis had followed Michael to Haddonfield and warned town sheriff Leigh Brackett of the danger he posed.[2]

That night, as Laurie and Annie were babysitting across the street from each other, Michael watched them from the shadows. He murdered Annie first, strangling her in her car as she left to meet her boyfriend, before slitting her throat. Later, Lynda and her boyfriend Bob showed up, only to fall victim to Michael as well. Worried about her missing friends, Laurie crossed the street to investigate, only to find Annie's body arranged under Judith Myers' gravestone, and Lynda and Bob hidden in the closets. Michael lunged at his sister, catching her on the arm with his knife, and she ran for help. Michael followed her across the street, and Laurie was forced to stab him with both a knitting needle and his own knife. As Michael rose from apparent death to resume his attack on Laurie, Dr. Loomis appeared and shot him six times, causing him to fall off the balcony. When Loomis went to check the body, Michael had vanished.[2]

Michael Myers on fire

In a last desperate attempt to end his massacre, Dr. Loomis tries to kill Michael in an explosion

Michael fled into the back alleys of Haddonfield. He killed a teenager named Alice Martin before breaking into the elementary school and scrawling "Samhain" onto the chalkboard in blood. As news of the murders spread, chaos erupted in Haddonfield, with citizens rioting and teenager Bennett Tramer being killed in the confusion. Learning Laurie's location from a news report, Michael resumed his search for her at Haddonfield Memorial Hospital, where she had been taken for her shoulder wound. Michael systematically murdered Laurie's protectors at the hospital, including a security guard, paramedic, doctor, and four nurses. Meanwhile, Dr. Loomis, who was continuing his search for Myers with the help of the Haddonfield police, was told by Marion Chambers of Michael's sibling connection to Laurie Strode. Loomis, realizing why Michael had come home, tracked him down to the hospital and shot him 5 times but was unable to stop him from killing a U.S. Marshal. Loomis and Laurie worked together to cause an explosion in the hospital operating room, which engulfed Michael in flames. Michael suffered severe burns and was left in a coma.[3]

Ten years later[]

Michael Myers in a School

Michael Myers escapes incarceration again to stalk his young niece Jamie Lloyd

The comatose Michael Myers was sent to Ridgemont Federal Sanitarium until October 30, 1988, when he was arranged to transfer back to Smith's Grove. However, he heard that his sister Laurie Strode had died and her daughter Jamie Lloyd—his niece—lived in Haddonfield, he woke up from his coma and murdered those with him in the ambulance. After the vehicle crashed off a bridge, Michael escaped and began his journey back to Haddonfield. He stopped at Penney's gas station and murdered the employees, stealing new overalls from one of the mechanics. He also breaks the phones there. Loomis comes to the filling station a short time later and discovers the mechanic's body. He goes to pick up one of the phones and realizes it is broken, before he turns to see Michael standing in place. As Michael remains silent and with no visual response to the pleas of Loomis, Loomis shoots at Michael several times and comes forward to check, discovering that he has missed and that Michael escaped the building. Loomis looks outside and then comes out, looking around and calling for Michael. The latter emerges from the garage in a truck, Loomis shooting at the truck to no avail. Michael drives past Loomis and blows up the filling station, Loomis ducking for cover and observing as the phone lines are caught in the explosion and severed before turning his attention back to the escaping Michael.[6]

Michael Myers
Jamie Michael Touch

Jamie holds her uncle's hand and some kind of psychic connection is formed between the two

In Haddonfield, Jamie was suffering regular nightmares about her uncle. When taken shopping for Halloween costumes by her adoptive sister, Rachel Carruthers, she briefly saw him as he was stealing a new mask from the discount store. When Loomis finally arrived in town, he contacted new sheriff Ben Meeker with the news of Michael's return. The pair of them went out searching for Jamie, who was trick-or-treating with Rachel. Meanwhile, Michael had begun his attack on Haddonfield, destroying the town's power supply and single-handedly wiping out the entire police force but Meeker and Deputy Logan. When word got around that Myers was back, a group of vengeful townsfolk began patrolling the streets with shotguns. Meeker and Loomis finally caught up with Jamie and Rachel, and they all took refuge in Meeker's house. However, when Michael found a way in and began killing their protectors, the two girls escaped via the roof, and were eventually rescued by the people hunting Myers. Jamie and Rachel were driven out of town to safety as the State police arrived to deal with Michael Myers. However, Michael had secretly hitched a ride under their truck, and Rachel was forced to take the wheel as Michael clawed at her from the roof, eventually throwing him off the roof and hitting him straight on. Jamie went over to check her uncle's body, and as he rose once again, Meeker and a team of armed police showed up and shot him relentlessly until he fell into a nearby mine shaft.[6] The police threw a stick of dynamite into the mine to finish him off, but Michael crawled out just in time and was swept away by a river. When he finally escaped the current, he fell back into his coma and was discovered by a hermit who nursed him back to health, unaware of who he was.[7]

Halloween-4 Jamie Michael

He's alive!!!

The hunt for Jamie continues[]

Hours after his defeat on Halloween 1988, Jamie stabs her stepmother Darlene Carruthers while under Michael's influence and is subsequently institutionalized at Haddonfield Children's Clinic under supervision from Loomis. The possession leaves her with a telepathic connection to Michael, which allows her to know where he is. A year later, Michael awakens from his coma and kills the hermit. He travels to Haddonfield and watches as Rachel and Tina Williams arrive at the Carruthers house, the latter departing before Rachel's dog Max notices Michael in the bushes and barks at him. Rachel brushes off the dog's concerns and goes inside. Michael watches her as she feeds Max and heads upstairs while she begins to disrobe. Jamie realizes that Michael is nearing Rachel as Max barks about him but is again ignored by Rachel. Michael comes up to Max as the dog barks in the kitchen and Jamie communicates to Loomis that Michael is at the Carruthers house. Michael lets himself in, and Max out, right as Loomis calls Rachel and instructs her to check on Max. With reluctance, Rachel goes downstairs and Michael stands behind her.

Rachel Carruthers's death

Michael kills Rachel.

Rachel alerts Loomis to Max being gone and he instructs her to leave the home. Michael watches Rachel as she leaves the house. He goes into another part of the house and avoids being seen by either Nick Ross or Tom Farrah when they inspect it for intruders. Max returns to Rachel after the officers finish checking the house and she places a phone call to Jamie telling her that she loves her. Michael sits in Rachel's closet as she picks out a shirt, placing his hand to the rack as Rachel puts the shirt on and hears Max barking again. Michael retreats into Jamie's room, before Rachel comes down the hallway and into the room. She spots a picture of Jamie on the floor, the glass of the girl's portrait shattered. Michael reveals himself from behind the bedroom door and is seen by Rachel just before he plunges a pair of scissors into her shoulder, killing her. Tina comes back to the house a short time later, Michael watching her as she moves from room to room. Samantha Thomas comes into the house, sneaking up on Tina and the two leave together. Michael watches them through the front window and when Tina peaks back, he moves out of her line of sight.

Michael leaves the house and watches Tina and Sam talk until they are picked up by Mike. He stands behind a bush as Tina and Sam go to Mike's car, and sees the latter drive away from the group, just to pull up a short distance away. Spitz supplies him with beer, the former walking away as Mike gets into the front of the car. Michael comes behind the vehicle and hits it with his garden claw, pulling it forward to scrape the entirety of the car's trunk. An angered Mike leaves the car and tries to attack Michael, but is quickly grabbed by the throat. Michael lowers Mike to the ground and uses his other hand to bring the garden claw forward, which Michael uses to fatally stab him in the forehead. A dying and bleeding Mike falls to the ground, Michael bending over his body and grabbing his hands as he drags the teen away.

Michael disguised as Mike with Tina

Tina Williams notices the cracks in Michael's disguise.

That night, Michael puts on the mask Tina gave Mike and drives the latter's car to the Carruthers house, effectively posing as him. He honks his horn for Tina to come out and Jamie begins feeling his presence. Tina comes out of the house and tries flirting with Michael as she approaches, the latter hesitating to open the door as she repeatedly requests that he let her in. Tina sarcastically thanks him for being a such gentleman and notes that he's wearing her present. She tells him that she loves barbaric men and asks if she gets a kiss, telling him that she cannot resist his new look before kissing his mask. Tina tells him that it felt creepy and notices his tight clutching of the steering wheel. Michael drives off with her and Jamie collapses.

Tina questions why he is not talking and tells him to stop at the gas station so she can get a pack of cigarettes, Michael initially ignoring her before she makes the same demand. He suddenly stops the car and watches as she leaves. Through translations from Billy Hill and Loomis, the officers are able to locate Tina at the gas station. Michael removes Mike's mask and puts his own back on. Tina comes out of the gas station and four police cars come toward her, ordering her to come with them. Michael drives away as she complies. Micheal goes to the Tower Farm party and watches Sam and Spitz having intercourse in the barn, grabbing a pitchfork as he nears the couple. He impales Spitz with it and a screaming Sam looks up to see Michael as the latter moves away. A horrified Sam stands up and Michael stands in place with a scythe. Sam goes to her boyfriend's corpse and pulls the scythe out of his pitchfork out of his back, turning to face Michael.

Michael killing Samantha

Michael kills Samantha Thomas in the barn.

Sam tries to hit Michael with the pitchfork, but he catches it with his scythe and throws it, sending Sam against the wall. Michael then fatally slices her chest with the scythe, coating the ground in her blood. Michael exits the barn still holding the pitchfork and is seen by Tom, who calls him and tells him that enough is enough. Nick says that someone could get hurt with that thing and Tom repeats this to Michael, who begins walking to their car. Nick comments that this shows teens have no respect for authority anymore and Tom comments that the parents are the case, the latter calling Michael a "punk" as he declares that he is through playing around. Michael, now standing right in front of the pair's car, murders Nick and Tom by stabbing them in the throat with the pitchfork. Tina brushes off an invite from a fellow partygoer on the grounds that she cannot leave Sam and Spitz and goes back to the barn, noticing the cats from earlier are now blood-stained. Sam and Spitz's corpses soon descend on her and Tina is sent into a panic, running out as she calls for someone to help her. She then sees Nick and Tom's corpses in their car and she runs up to Mike's car, Michael sitting inside and turning the front lights on.

Michael pursues Tina, who runs from his slow-moving car and jumps over a fence. Michael smashes through it and Jamie yells out for him to leave her alone and Tina screams. Jamie shouts at Michael, asking what he wants and Michael stops in place. As he spots Billy and Jamie, he changes course and targets the two. Billy and Jamie separate and Michael chases Billy, the boy stopping in place and waiving his arms as he shouts "No" before jumping out of Michael's way. Jamie calls out Billy's name and tries to come to his side, but Michael begins chasing her, running down trees. While maneuvering the car, Michael swears the wrong way and misses Jamie, hitting the vehicle against a tree. An injured Jamie lays on the ground as the horn on the car goes off, the horn ending its noise as Michael reappears. Jamie tries to crawl away as Michael walks to her slowly, screaming as he is about to stab her with his knife. Tina jumps in the way as she screams Jamie's name and grabs Michael's arm as she instructs Jamie to run, Michael fatally stabbing Tina and removing the blade.

He places the mortally wounded Tina on the ground, and Jamie and Billy get away, Loomis locating the pair and handing them over to the officers and paramedics. Jamie agrees to help Loomis after he confirms that he thinks he can kill Michael and he directs everyone to leave. Knowing Michael is still in the forest, Loomis tells Michael that his rage will destroy him too and that he has to fight it in the place where it all began, his home, if he wants to get rid of it. Loomis directs Michael to go home and says that he will be there waiting for him with Jamie. Loomis, Jamie, Meeker, Charlie Bloch, and other officers descend on the Myers house and Jamie is made to sit in Judith's bedroom and mimic her doing her hair. Jamie begins sensing that Billy is in trouble and Loomis alerts Meeker that Michael is at the clinic. Most of the officers leave and Loomis locks Jamie and Charlie in Judith's room.

Halloween-5 Samuel Loomis

Loomis pleads with Michael to have a positive relationship with Jamie.

Eddy Grey contacts Charlie over the walkie-talkie and informs him of a car approaching, which is Michael driving a police car that he stole. Michael crashes the car into the back of Eddy's, causing the latter to hit his head as Michael comes to the vehicle. Michael punches him through the window and hits the blood-covered officer against his own steering wheel, killing him. Against Charlie's will, Loomis orders the former to stay with Jamie as he confronts Michael. Michael approaches his old home and enters through a door, watching Loomis from behind. His former doctor happily states that Michael has come back to them and tells him that he knows why he came back, the reason being that "the little girl can stop the rage inside". Loomis tells Michael that if he allows Jamie, she can stop the rage and lies about her location, saying she's in the middle of the old house. Loomis offers to take Michael to her and tries to take his knife, reasoning that Michael will not need it to see her. Michael slashes Loomis across the stomach, hits the screaming man against the glass of a window, and throws him across a banister.

Charlie is alerted by Loomis's screams and breaks the glass in Judith's bedroom so that he and Jamie can escape. Michael goes upstairs and breaks down part of the door as Charlie and Jamie are just about ready to flee. Charlie shoots at Michael several times, seemingly knocking him unconscious as he collapses. As Charlie turns his back, Michael rushes into the room and hits him repeatedly, Jamie running out as the attack continues. Michael grabs Charlie by the head and hangs him. Jamie hides in a laundry shoot and Michael enters the room, opening the shoot and seeing Jamie. He reaches for her as she allows herself to fall downward until she hits the bottom. Michael walks downstairs and approaches the end of the shoot. Michael stabs at the shoot's lock and pulls it, ripping it off. He reaches inside and then stabs at the shoot in an attempt to strike Jamie. Jamie climbs out and heads to the attic, finding the corpses of Mike, Max, and Rachel.

Michael Unmasked Jamie

Michael takes off his mask for Jamie

Her screams tips Michael off to where she is and he comes, Jamie getting into the coffin he stole from the cemetary. As Michael prepares to stab her, Jamie calls him "Uncle Boogeyman" and he is startled by this, honoring her request to let him see by pulling off his mask. As Jamie comments that he is just like her, Michael lets out a tear and when she tries to wipe his face, he pushes back in a fury. As Jamie runs away, Michael takes the coffin and throws it against the wall. Jamie goes downstairs and runs into Loomis, who asks Michael if he wants her and holds her in his arms, seemingly offering her as a sacrifice. Loomis holds the screaming Jamie as Michael follows them and Loomis tells him that they are going to play a game called "Catch the little girl". Loomis pulls a rope and Michael is caught by a net. Releasing Jamie, he shoots Michael with a tranquilizer gun repeatedly before Michael pulls the gun out of his hands and throws it away. Loomis rips a piece of wood off the wall and beats Michael with it as he calls for him to die. Michael collapses and Loomis, having a heart attack, falls atop his former patient as the officers arrive. In the aftermath, Michael is awakened and placed in jail. As Jamie is about to be transported back to the clinic, Terence Wynn comes into the building and shoots the officers with a machine gun, freeing Michael in the process.[7]

Cult of Thorn[]

For the next six years, the disappeared Michael and Jamie are assumed dead in the police massacre.

6 years later[]

"You can't have the baby, Michael. You can't have the baby."
―Jamie Lloyd[src]
Halloween6 2

Michael after killing Nurse Mary.

On October 30, Jamie gives birth to a baby and escapes with the help of Nurse Mary. After the latter encourages Jamie to leave without her, Michael attempts to sneak up on her, and Mary mistakes his noises for that of Jamie returning. He grabs her by the throat and lifts her up, placing his hand over her mouth before fatally impaling her head on a metal spike on the wall. He removes his hand from her corpse and his arm from her throat and stares at the body. Jamie, carrying Steven, escapes to outside as it rains and moves through a crack in the gate. Michael exits a short time after, and the panicked teen mom jumps into a truck. Its owner, a motorist, inquires as to why she's taking the vehicle and Jamie tries to speak to him, but cannot be heard over the rain. Michael comes from behind him and kills him by twisting his head around.

Jamie calls into the radio station of Barry Simms and pleads for help from Dr. Loomis to keep Michael away from her before being cut off. She hides her baby in a bathroom, and Michael comes down a short time later. He opens a stall, but does not find her. He continues opening them until getting to the correct one Jamie was hiding in, which indirectly gives her enough time to escape the restroom through a window. Michael continues pursuing her, as Jamie crashes her stolen car and staggers into a barn. In the darkness, she realizes how loud her footprint was and turns to see Michael next to her, who immediately grabs her by the throat and slams her abdomen against a corn thrasher. The mortally wounded Jamie stares back at Michael, extending her arms toward him in a seeming last plea for some humanity from her uncle. Michael responds via extending his hands back, and thus pretending to be affected by her gesture, only to push her further into the thrasher.

Jamie tells Michael that he cannot have the baby and Michael goes to the side of her, turning the thresher on and slowly ripping her torso apart to finish her off. He goes to her trunk to find the baby, seemingly grabbing him out of the car before pulling the cover back and realizing Jamie tricked him. Michael watches Debra Strode as she tells her husband John Strode of her conversation with Loomis, who warned her about the terrible things that had happened in their home years ago. Debra announces her intention to flee and becomes worried as she is leaving with her packed bag, going down the stairs to answer the phone. She hears Wynn announce that they want the child and turns to see Michael standing in her home. Debra runs out of the house, and amid the clothes drying outside, loses her glasses. As she crouches after retrieving them, she moves a sheet and sees Michael standing above her with an axe. She calls his name in a panic and he kills her with the weapon, splattering her blood on the sheet.

John arrives at the house drunk later that night and calls for Debra, realizing and regretting that she actually left before the lights abruptly turn off. He goes downstairs, mocking the threat of Michael in a reference to his conversation with his wife earlier that day, and discovers that the power has been turned off. He goes to the washing machine and sees the blood-stained sheets from Michael's murder of Debra. John turns to see Michael behind him, the latter stabbing him with a kitchen knife and lifting him into the air. Michael pins John to a fuse box, the latter being electrocuted and shortly thereafter having his head exploded. Later that night, Barry Simms has an interview with Beth and Tim Strode, Beth revealing that Tim and his family live in the Myers house. This causes Barry to want to take the show to the Myers house to boost ratings and he goes to his van, where Michael is waiting for him. The latter puts his hand over Barry's mouth before stabbing him downward.

Tim and Beth return to the Myers house. Tim goes to take a shower and requests that Beth bring a towel to him. Michael gives him the towel from behind and Tim thanks him. Tim goes to the mirror and wipes some fog off of it before seeing Michael's reflection, the latter grabbing Tim by the hair and slitting his throat. Kara Strode, taking refuge at Tommy's home, calls Beth over the phone and asks her if Tim is with her. Beth replies that Tim went to take a shower and Kara orders her to get him and get out of the house. Beth asks what is going on as Michael approaches her silently from behind and Kara tries to warn her about him. Michael repeatedly stabs Beth in the back as Kara watches and the latter leaves Tommy's home to go back to her own. Michael arranges Tim and Beth's corpses to be laying in bed. Kara discovers this and Michael goes to confront her and Danny. Kara orders Danny to run away and Michael follows her. Kara finds her mother's corpse, Michael coming into the room afterward. Kara runs forward and Michael moves Debra's body out of the way.

Kara hides in the shadows, and trips Michael, sending him falling down the staircase. Kara comes downstairs to see the seemingly unconscious Michael and Danny stands by his body on the other side. Kara retrieves Danny, and has her leg grabbed by Michael, who squeezes it and sends her falling to the floor. Kara hits Michael's hand, getting him to release her. Kara and Danny run out of the house and Michael pursues them, Kara banging on Tommy's door for the latter to let them in. Tommy complies and Kara and Danny are let in before Michael is able to get to them. Wynn reveals himself as the Man in Black to Loomis, Tommy, Kara, and Danny, and kidnaps the latter two. Tommy and Loomis arrive at Smith's Groove to rescue the pair. As Tommy is trying to free Kara from her cell, Michael comes by and turns his head to see Tommy. The latter, seeing him up-close for the first time in fifteen years, is initially startled but continues trying to break Kara out until he destroys the handle.

He then kicks the door and tries to flee with Kara, who is grabbed by the hair by Michael through a set of bars that they tried to use to get him to stop following them. Tommy looks for a weapon as Kara demands for Michael to let go of her as she screams in pain. Tommy goes up to Michael and points a gun to his chest, shooting him. Michael falls on the ground and Kara is freed. Tommy and Kara look through the windows and find Danny and Steven. Michael goes into the operating room and murders almost all of the doctors. Tommy and Kara grab Steven and Danny in the commotion and an injured doctor manages to flee the room just as Michael is walking behind him. Tommy, Kara, and Danny run and the injured doctor tries to keep up with them, and away from Michael. Tommy drops a set of metal bars behind them and the injured doctor is caught, begging for the group to help him as Michael comes behind him and bangs his head against the metal bars before crushing his face with them to kill the man and knocking the gate to the floor, allowing him to continue his pursuit.

As the three continue to flee, they cut a corner at Tommy's direction, and Michael cuts them off. The three retreat into a room of tubes and it appears Michael cannot get in, until he punches a hole in the door and then a bigger hole that causes the door to fall. Michael enters the room and walks near the pipe that Kara and Danny are hiding behind, stopping in place and turning his head before Tommy calls his name. Tommy declares that Michael has won and the latter tilts his head. Tommy smiles as he comes up to Michael, seemingly holding Steven, and tells him that the baby is his. Michael begins to take "Steven" from Tommy before the actual baby cries in a corner, Michael turning his head in reaction. Tommy quickly injects Michael with tranquilizers and chemicals as the latter grabs him by the throat. Michael throws Tommy and rips the tranquilizers out of his neck. Michael steps forward and is given a sneak attack by Kara, who strikes him with a pipe. This sends him back and Kara repeats this move until Michael grabs her by the face and hits her against a table.

Kara reaches for Michael's mask and Danny screams at him to leave her alone, Michael seeing Danny as he holds Steven and releasing Kara. She falls to the floor as Michael goes to her son. Michael reaches for Danny, but cannot get to him due to the large closed containers blocking the boy from his grasp. Tommy injects Michael with another tranquilizer from behind and beats Michael with a pipe, the latter hitting the floor as Tommy continues this trend until Kara and Danny flee and Michael stops moving. Tommy resumes beating him and Michael bleeds green blood from the eyes of his mask, Tommy dropping the pipe and smiling. As Tommy, Kara, and the children prepared to leave Smith's Grove for safety, Dr. Loomis decided to go back inside to attend to some "business". However, Michael's mask was seen on the floor and Loomis was heard screaming.[4]

Finding Tommy[]

A few years later, on October 30, Michael broke into the office of Michael Cyphers at Smith's Grove and pinned him against the door with a knife. Michael stayed in the office until Tommy Doyle came in and watched as Tommy took Loomis' files, unaware that Cyphers was still pinned to the door. Michael then followed Tommy back to his home and waited outside until it was Halloween and broke into the house. When he approached Tommy, he planned to kill him but Tommy took out his gun and shot at Michael multiple times but it had no effect on Michael who backhanded Tommy against a mirror. It was at this time that Tommy grabbed a whiskey bottle and smashed it into Michael's face. Tommy then got a lighter and lit Michael's face on fire and then hit him with a chair, which sent Michael out the window. Michael was still alive after all this and quickly fled.

He retreated back towards his childhood home and hid in the bushes as he watched Tommy also hiding and watching former sheriff Leigh Brackett stuff Richie Castle's body into his car. He stayed at the house as both of them left but Michael wasn't alone for too long as Richie's friends, Lonnie Elam and Keith came to the Myers house in search of their friend. The two spilt-up in their search and Keith was quickly beheaded by Michael. Lonnie soon discovered both Keith's head and Michael who then proceeded to stab Lonnie. Michael stayed in his home until it was dusk and walked towards Haddonfied Church, but before he entered the building, he saw a young woman named Jackie alone in her boyfriend's car. Jackie thought it was her boyfriend and demanded a kiss but Michael stabbed her and left her to die as he continued onto the church. Michael went towards the basement where he discovered the priest trying to help Tommy and Brackett escape. Michael quickly stabbed the priest but was stopped briefly when Tommy hit him with a chair. As Michael tossed Tommy aside, Brackett took a lantern and smashed it onto Michael's head. Michael then stabbed Brackett in the chest while Tommy grabbed a fire extinguisher and electrocuted Michael and caused the church to explode, allowing Tommy to escape once more.

The blackest eyes[]

Surviving the last encounter with Tommy, Michael would later discover that his sister, Laurie Strode, was actually alive. In events resembling the H20 Timeline, Michael hunted down Laurie, who was under the persona of Keri Tate. Michael and Laurie faced each other, which ended with Michael finally being killed when Laurie beheaded him. The traumatized Laurie would later assume Michael's identity.[8]

Appearances[]

Notes and trivia[]

  • Michael and Loomis are the only characters to appear in every film in this timeline.
  • Michael and Loomis are the only characters to interact with Marion Chambers in Halloween.
  • The original film is the only one in this timeline where Michael is the sole person to kill others. Halloween II has Ben Tramer's death by a police officer, Halloween 4 features Ted Hollister being shot by Orrin Gateway and other Haddonfield vigilantes, and both Halloween 5 and the Producer's Cut of The Curse of Michael Myers feature Terence Wynn killing people.
  • Along with Tommy Doyle, Terence Wynn, Lindsey Wallace, Laurie Strode and Jamie Lloyd, Michael is one of six characters in this timeline to be played by more than one actor.
  • Halloween II is the only film in this timeline where Michael wears his iconic mask for the entirety of the film.
  • Jimmy is the only member of the Haddonfield Memorial Hospital staff that Michael neither kills nor makes an attempt at murdering.
  • This is the only timeline where Michael encounters Marion Chambers more than once and never kills her, as this version of Michael never sees her again after Halloween II whereas his counterparts in the H20 and 2018 timelines murder her during their subsequent sprees.
  • As Halloween II was intended to end the Michael Myers story, the ending of Loomis and Myers being caught in the hospital explosion was intended to be their deaths.
  • Halloween 4 is the only sequel in this timeline where Loomis knows where Michael is at the start of the film, as the latter has been in a coma since their near-death experience at the end of Halloween II.
  • Out of the four survivors (Loomis, Meeker, Jamie, and Rachel) of Michael's massacre at the Meeker house, Sheriff Meeker is the only one who Michael does not make physical contact with during Halloween 4, as he throws Loomis, grabs Jamie's leg, and pulls Rachel's shirt at various points of the movie.
  • In the scene at the schoolhouse where Michael grabs Loomis from behind and throws him through a glass door in Halloween 4, Michael's mask is a copy of the one he wore in the original film, but pink with blonde hair. Director Dwight Little said this was likely due to someone grabbing the wrong mask from the prop truck at 4 am and everyone involved being too tired to notice. Little said they should have gone back and reshot the scene if they had more time and money and admitted it was a mistake.
  • Of his four Halloween killing sprees depicted in this timeline (1978, 1988, 1989, and 1995), Michael's 1988 spree (in Halloween 4) is the only one where he does not return to the Myers house. He does not go back to the Myers house in Halloween II either, but this takes place on the same night as the first film.
  • George P. Wilbur is the only actor to play Michael more than once in this timeline, portraying him in Halloween 4 and The Curse of Michael Myers.
  • Michael returns to the Myers house in every film in this timeline except Halloween 4.
  • Although the mask in Halloween 5 is different from the one in the fourth film, it is intended to be the same one, as the opening scene of Halloween 5 picks up immediately from where the previous film left off.
  • When Michael kills Rachel in Halloween 5, it is the first time in the series that he kills a character who appeared in an earlier film. All of his prior victims had died in their first appearances.
  • Along with Mike and Tina, he is one of three characters to wear the mask Tina gave Mike.
  • He is the only one seen driving Mike's car besides Mike himself.
  • The ending of Halloween 5 features the only time Michael is seen jailed in the entire series.
  • At one point, the identity of the Man in Black was considered being revealed as Michael's father, who would have been revealed to have survived his previously stated death disclosed in Halloween II.
  • It is unknown if the psychic connection between Michael and Jamie persisted after the events of Halloween 5, as it is not mentioned at all in The Curse of Michael Myers.
  • Dr. Loomis, Laurie, and Jamie are the only three characters in this timeline confirmed to have seen Michael's face after he escapes Smith's Grove and begins his Halloween killing sprees.
  • Judith and Jamie are the only relatives Michael succeeds in killing in this timeline, as Laurie survives her encounters with him and his attempts to kill Steven fail as well.
  • While Michael kills Jamie in the theatrical cut of Curse, the Producer's Cut has Wynn murder her with a gunshot in the hospital.
  • While its ambiguous in the theatrical cut (as the movie ends with Loomis screaming and Michael's mask on the floor), the producer's cut of The Curse of Michael Myers is the first and only movie in the entire franchise in which both Loomis and Michael appear, but do not meet.
