Lester was an animal character in Halloween.
BiographyEditLester was the pet German Shepherd of Lindsey Wallace. Lester saw Michael Myers standing outside of the Wallace home watching Lindsey's babysitter Annie Brackett. He started to bark at this stranger but Annie did not concern herself from his barking as Lester usually barked whenever Annie had come over. To stop Lester from drawing attention, Michael grabbed the dog and choked him to death
- German Shepherds are a dog breed native to Germany. This breed's origins date back to 1899. They are part of the herding group. They were originally used for guarding and herding sheep. The breed is also used in police and military roles. They are highly intelligent and obedient. The breed is known for its willingness to learn and eagerness to have a purpose. They are curious, which makes them excellent guard dogs. German Shepherds are loyal by nature and bond well with people they know, most markedly with the one person to whom they consider the alpha of the household. This is very important, as they are bred to protect those in their pack and feel stressed if they do not have a 'master'. However, they can become over-protective of their family and territory, especially if not socialized correctly. They are not inclined to become immediate friends with strangers.
- Since Lester did indeed die, he is one of two dogs to be killed in the first film (the other is the off-screen, eaten corpse that Dr. Loomis and Sheriff Brackett find in the Myers house).
- German Shepherds will jump for a person's throat as the guard dogs that they are. Also, they would keep barking if there was a suspicious man in a mask outside your house. Therefore, Michael would have ensured Lester's death.
